關於偏方、健康食品觀念

 癌症治療後，不可否認的，大家想要努力不要復發，但西醫正統治療完後，多定期身體檢查、影像學、內視鏡追蹤，那大家一定想能不能找些東西吃預防復發呢?

 
現今癌症治療為"很多人體試驗資料"的結果
 
或許你會聽到病友推薦甚麼保健食品不錯、或是看了XX醫師抗癌書籍，推薦抗癌藥品，就燃起一絲希望想"或許我吃了這些"，也可以幫助我不會復發?????!
 
癌症從成因到診斷、治療，都是經過經年累月的細胞/動物實驗，進一步到"人體試驗"累積研究資料產生的結果  (舉例來說，化療藥太平洋紫杉醇，從動物實驗到三期人體試驗確定有效，走了快10年的研究過程) ，最後醫生科學界依據這些"人體試驗"資料才整理出依癌別不同的治療準則指引(就像工廠製造的SOP)，但這些指引也一直在持續更新資料中。
 
細胞/動物實驗僅為初步測試效果

 

人體試驗分一期二期三期臨床試驗

 

 
 
那市面上很多產品，或是保健食品、健康食品如:牛樟芝、天仙液、白藜蘆醇、褐藻糖膠等，我不能否認未來經過人體試驗後可能有效，但目前僅在細胞動物試驗中有看到抗癌的效果，細胞動物實驗僅為測試是否有抗癌潛力的平台，但劑量如何轉換到人體，且人體的環境相對複雜許多，使得很多動物實驗到人體測試後就失敗(美國FDA統計約8-9%的成功率)。
 
人體應該使用的劑量、安全性、是否會與正規癌症治療相衝突，降低癌症治療效果，目前這些產品都是申請"保健食品字號"，是食品，非藥品，且僅有極少數的臨床人體報告而已，貿然服用，且金額高昂，到底有沒有價質就要審慎評估。
保健食品僅有細胞/動物實驗或極少的人體測試

 

另外有一些綜合維他命、抗氧化劑 如硒，E，胡蘿蔔素等，美國國家癌症中心的近期建議是:沒特殊需求如孕婦、骨質疏鬆等，不用特別補充，研究也證實對於防癌沒有明確的效果，甚至有些抗氧化劑反而會對於癌症有害，如VitE 和胡蘿蔔素會促進肺癌，VitE 和硒會增加攝護腺癌風險等!!
 
植物飲食、運動、舒壓、減重、社會支持乃是目前科學證據最夠的預防癌症和復發的方法!

乳癌是女性癌症病發的首位，越早發現，治愈的機會越大，故此由40歲開始應定期進行X光造影檢查。有關治療方法，以手術、放射治療、化學治療、賀爾蒙及標靶治療為主。而本港罹患入侵性乳癌的女性當中，大約有20% 屬於HER2陽性乳癌，其特徵是腫瘤生長及擴散速度較非HER2型乳癌快，屬於侵略性極高的癌症。而Trastuzumab (曲妥珠單抗)正是針對HER2乳癌的標靶治療藥物。

 

癌症與食物營養

癌症與食物營養有其莫大的關係。某些惡性腫瘤如乳腺癌、大腸癌等，與熱能的過度攝入有關。已有資料提示膳食蛋白質量過高或過低均可促進癌症發生，但對不同組織腫瘤的發生有不同影響。

 

天然抗癌食物

中醫腫瘤食療學的特色是重視各種疾病的飲食宜忌。癌症病人應該吃什麼食物，與各種癌瘤的特性、癌瘤所犯的臟腑、患者的體質、以及所採用的治療措施有關。因此，中醫強調“辨証調養”，而常見天然抗癌食物包括有海参、魚鰾、海帶、牛奶、雞蛋、猴頭菇、木耳、蘆筍、番茄等。

【癌症飲食】尋找憂遁草的學術研究報告

憂遁草是甚麼？

憂遁草，又叫休頓草、鱷嘴花、沙巴蛇草 (Sabah snake grass)、青箭、柔刺草、千里追、小接骨⋯⋯等。是東南亞一帶盛產的一種植物。據稱憂遁草一名是在約20年前由怡保中醫師劉紹麟所起的。據了解，在馬來西亞和泰國一帶，憂遁草可用作解蛇毒和治療昆蟲咬傷引起的發炎，它的葉和嫩枝也可用作食用。

憂遁草生物學名叫 Clinacanthus nutans。它是一種屬爵床科多年生常綠植物 (Family: Acanthaceae)，沙巴蛇草屬 (Genus: Clinacanthus) 的灌木，它的繁殖力強在香港的家居環境，如露台或天台也可用花盆種植。種植不難，只需要約3個月的時間便可由插枝開始至有所收成。

憂遁草的功效孰真孰假

國內很多的中藥書籍原本沒有憂遁草這草藥的記錄，但江蘇新醫學院編成的《中藥大辭典》（上冊）第2493條有記載 「青箭」這草藥 (有一說法青箭即等同憂遁草)。

以往中藥學的資料對青箭功用的描述主要是用來治理黄疸、月經不調，跌打腫痛和骨折等症，沒有提及它治癌的用途。

根據網上的一些資料指廣東省農業科學院蔬菜研究所和華南農業大學園藝學院曾經研究過憂遁草，有以下結論 (但我未能查證是否屬實)﹕

  1. 憂遁草是一種野菜，含很高的類黃酮物質，類黃酮物質對抗癌有某程度上的功效。
  2. 根莖含白樺脂醇 (Betulin) 和三萜化合物 (Triterpenes，所有三萜化合物都是五環的，不要受一些胡亂抄回來的，看來好像很專業的網頁資料所吸引)。白樺脂醇對某些癌病治療可能有某程度上的作用 (參考: http://www.cancer.org/treatment/treatmentsandsideeffects/complementaryandalternativemedicine/herbsvitaminsandminerals/white-birch)
  3. 含有多種人體必需的礦物質和維他命。

 

在台灣有人引入了憂遁草並推廣當食用蔬菜或癌症患者的治病草藥，當地一般認為它的功能是：清熱利濕、袪瘀消腫、活血疏經。

據台灣中央通訊社報導，屏東縣政府農業處表示，沙巴蛇草具藥用及食材功能。故此一般食用應該是安全的。

憂遁草治癌？

 

要說到憂遁草為何近年來在東南亞一帶受到廣泛討論就先要說一個故事了﹕

2008 年住在馬來西亞霹靂州太平市的劉聯輝先生，一名被醫生放棄治療的末期淋巴癌病人，在無助下，得到一些特別啟示後服用家門前的憂遁草，結果康復過來還把自己的經歷上載。劉聯輝在家門前空地，栽種了很多憂遁草，供應自己及送給友人。劉聯輝指稱不少人服用後也有見效。而他聲稱治癒癌症種類相當廣泛，包括淋巴癌、肝癌、肺癌、腎癌、乳癌、鼻咽癌、子宮癌、卵巢癌、血癌、腦癌、前列腺癌等等。消息再經報章傳開後，在星馬一帶，不少人對憂遁草都視之為抗癌奇草。

再經多個媒體的先後報導，憂遁草便成為了癌症病人間的一個話題。這些媒體的報導和憂遁草如何食用，我不在此附上連結了。

但學術上，憂遁草又有否科學研究去支持它的抗癌功效呢？找了很久，也找不到太多的資料，可能憂遁草只是近年才成熱門話題吧！

 

泰國人會用這草藥作抗病毒之用。泰國Suranaree University of Technology 曾於2008 做過一個研究，找到憂遁草有些成份能抗炎和抗病毒，但並沒有研究過它的抗癌能力。

台灣的銘傳大學於2012年也發表過一份文章指憂遁草比綠茶有更高的抗氧化能力。

在2013四月泰國的Chulalongkorn University 也發表了一篇文章指憂遁草有抗單純疱疹病毒 (herpes simplex virus) 的能力。

但真正有關癌病的研究我指找到兩篇﹕

在2013年馬來西亞Universiti Putra Malaysia 發表了一個的研究報告，指憂遁草的提取物具有抗氧化和抗癌細胞增殖作用。但要注意，上述結論只是基於試管實驗結果，並非用在人體的臨床醫學研究。

在2014年，台灣屏東科大學研究生:徐千惠在謝寶全教授的指導下發表了一個研究報告﹕憂遁草萃取物對肝癌細胞 HepG2 之抑制及其抗氧化能力之探討

報告指憂遁草萃取物對於人類肝癌細胞株 HepG2 具有抑制和毒殺效果。安全性試驗方面憂遁草萃取物不具有致突變性，對老鼠正常肝細胞生長沒有影響。憂遁草並具有良好抗氧化能力。

上述結論也並非用在人體的臨床醫學研究。

 

由於憂遁草在馬來西亞大受吹捧，指能幫助不少人成功抗癌，所以有也影響了星加坡不少的癌病者採用。星洲新聞網/星洲日報在2011年訪問了星加坡李進榮中醫師，他指憂遁草屬於偏涼的草藥，所以它只適合熱性引起疾病的人士服食，有些癌症病人身子虛弱和熱能不夠，如大量吃下偏寒的草藥，將使身子更衰弱和抵抗力激降。

癌症患者服用憂遁草必須承受一切可能性風險

在一次和劉聯輝先生的電話會議中，他詳細說出了如何用憂遁草來治癌。他並指出服用憂遁草期間，切記要禁食多種食物，包括雞、鴨、牛油、芋頭、糯米、榴槤、保健品、補品、中藥、刺殼魚 (產於馬來西亞的一種河魚)、甘望魚 (盛產於馬來西亞的一種海魚) 及魔鬼魚。雖然我沒有懷疑劉聯輝先生的動機，但要注意其實劉聯輝先生並不是醫護界人士，也非受訓中醫師。

沙巴蛇草是一種天自然的植物，我們要理解到天然並不等同安全。至今暫時沒有關於長期進食憂遁草對人的安全性和效用性研究報告。如果憂遁草真的能幫助癌症病患者，我們當然希望很快有多些醫學臨床報告找出它的最佳用法。但現階段如果癌症患者服用它，他們必須承受一切可能性風險，而有些風險可能是極嚴重和不可逆轉的。這個療法要求病人要停用所有中西藥治療，如果病人因此錯過治療的黃金機會就後悔莫及了。

We believe that too many men die of prostate,
bowel and testicular cancer because they do not know how to
detect the symptoms in the early stages,
when treatment would be more effective.

This ignorance is made worse by the prevailing
‘culture of embarrassment’, that discourages men from discussing
and resolving problems related to intimate parts of their body.


What We Do
Host awareness raising sessions at male oriented events,
places of work and leisure, schools/colleges/universities and
other public places.

Raise the profile of our Charity in general via PR and
marketing activities, using our characters.
In addition, we may choose to support other Charities related to
male cancers for specific campaigns..


How We Are Different
We don’t do research as we believe that education is the key
in the fight against male cancer.

We come to you. We are out travelling the country
raising awareness, because we believe that people
are more likely to remember a message that they hear ‘live’,
than one they read in a leaflet.

We are about Cancer, but also about culture.
In addition to providing specific information we also aim to
reduce the general culture of embarrassment that
surrounds men’s attitude towards their own health

We are truly nationwide, we are active across the whole country
not just in major cities.

We raise awareness all year round as we believe this needs to be
ongoing rather than confined to short campaigns.

History :

Nathan Smith Davis, MD, founded the American Medical Association (AMA) in 1847 when he was just 30 years old. As a young doctor in western New York in 1844, Davis was elected to serve in the New York Medical Society, where he worked to improve medical education and licensure. A year after his election, Davis introduced a resolution endorsing the establishment of a national medical association to "elevate the standard of medical education in the United States." Davis and others led the establishment of the AMA in the following year.

Dr. Davis and his colleagues set very high goals for this new association to advance the science of medicine, to improve the standards for medical education, to develop a program of medical ethics, and to improve the health of the public. The founders reached those goals and set standards that have been upheld by the AMA ever since.

Two hundred and fifty delegates from 28 states attended the founding meeting and were seated amidst exhibit cases and ancient bones of a mastodon, "Mammut Amercanum," in the hall of The Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia, Pa. At the meeting, the delegates adopted the first code of medical ethics, and the first national standards for preliminary medical education and for the degree of MD.

Those delegates in attendance launched what has become the largest medical association in America. For more than 160 years the AMA's work has remained focused on its founding principles. Today, the AMA represents the best of American medicine and continues to serve as an advocate for the physician, the patient and the profession.
