Hi, I just had a body check at the end of June which consist of an ultrasound examination of breast. The result came back claiming a simple cystic lesion in L breast 0.5 cm (LxWxAP) and a cystic lesion in R breast (0.5×0.6×0.2cm) with internal echoes. Any chance of malignancy in R side? ( I am not sure if the R side of technician is my L side) as I have swollen sensation and sometimes pain in L armpit, but no mass is felt. Am very worried about this, is a needle asp needed? thanks for reply!
Hello Charlotte, thanks for your information.
For ultrasound finding, we have a score to determine whether it belongs to benign or needs further regular checkup or investigation. Usually if BIRADS 3, we will advise close monitoring with 6 months ultrasound. Depending on ultrasound findings and images shown, we need to review whether the lesions are high or low suspicious to determine whether biopsy necessary. Sometimes, the ultrasound findings should be interpreted with the mammogram result.
Also for the swollen sensation, will it be cyclic during menstrual cycle? It may be related to hormonal changes causing swollen sensation and intermittent pain discomfort.
